Blyde River Canyon crosses the Drakensbergen in Mpumalanga. Drakensbergen ( Dragon Mountains) are one of the largest mountains of Africa.

It is 25km in length and has cliffs of around 750 meter high from the river bed. The impressive gorge of red stone, a nearly vertically steep gorge to the river below.
