The area has a high summer rainfall of up to 190mm per month, which ensures this area to have the best waterfalls in the whole of South Africa. 


The Mac-Mac Falls
This is the most famous of the Panorama-route falls. The Mac-Mac falls are situated 14km outside of Sabie, in Graskop's direction. From atop you are able to see the falls plunge down 65 meters to the depths below. The river was named by president Thomas Burgers - who named it after the many Scots who panned the river in search of gold. 

The Pinnacle
These impressive falls are known for the massive rock face from which they fall about 30 meters to below. 

The Lisbon Falls
These falls - named after the Portuguese capital - falls 94 meters from its top and is situated about 6km south of The Pinnacle.
